Hushh...

I present to you my latest film- "Hushh......."

Couldn't have done this without Guru, Emme and Tilak sir- Thanks a bunch people.

Hope this gets you thinking......

Thinkick!

It's been a month since my last post.....a Crazy Crazy Month!!! Loads of work at the studio and to top it off, 15th April was the last day to turn in my portfolio and application form for the Inlaks-Fabrica scholarship!....yes scholarship......i applied for a scholarship (that sounds so weird).

Till about 11pm on the 4th of april, i was quite confidant about my portfolio. 11.15 pm the same night, that feeling felt like taking a walk and decided i wasn't worth it, and never came back. So i was sitting there staring at a dozen sketches that were so bad...i wanted to believe that i had nothing to do with em. That's all i had some crappy sketches and my first film "Rajan goes to school". I had to have something more on my portfolio......something respectable if not spectacular.

I called up Guru (the musicman)- and told him- "send me any new music you got.......i have gotta kick up an idea!". He sent me 9 tracks. Musicman's got an amazing sense of music- one of his tracks managed to kick up a thought- Mini Symphony 9 was the name (u suck at naming your songs dude!!). Well one idea lead to another....and another....and another.....and i then i knew what had to be done.

7 days of crappy hold ups- 5 consecutive nights at the studio void of sleep- 78 cups of coffee- 3 packs of cigarettes later- i had something i'd like to call a film.

i'm bored of typing now.......

Here are some stills from the film

Old stuff

I was cleaning out all the crap from my studio PC when i stumbled upon a long lost folder......i found a whole lotta scans i'd done of my sketch book some 6 months ago. It's good fun when u stumble upon some of yer old art work. There's something fresh about the way you look at it. All the mistakes jump right up at you and the good designs seem better and manage to trigger new thoughts and ideas. Its like looking at photographs of youself when you were a kid.......you can actually feel the evolution......which for me is a good feeling......reminds me that i'm not static......but moving forward....slow and steady.

Heres one sketch that i did at the ferry station on Hong Kong Island........I love chinki chiks......i love drawing em even more.......maybe it's the hair....i dunno.....this chick was real cute...she cldn't get her eyes off her PSP!

Peek-a-Boo!!

Have just started trying my hand with a wacom pad-- n I'm loving it!!!!

This wacom thing sure is kickass!!

Insignificant

Every once in a while i manage to get into this comfy spot with respect to the knowledge i've gained over the past years in the field of animation and film making. That feeling of "Wow!...i know so much......i'm so good at this......i feel like god!". Fortunately for me, more often then not some hot-shot comes around and shoots my notions down with a double barrel shot to the head!!......BAM!

This time around the Hot-Shot is a man who goes by the name of Amitabh Singh. Ace Live-Action Camera man turned Cinematographer. I don't know much about him, i don't think anyone does. That's the kind of man he is...Extreme introvert....low profile.....soft-spoken......relentlessly dedicated to his work--Brilliant beyond imagination.

The studio i work with hired his services as a cinematographer on one of our bigger 3d animation projects. I've learnt so much from him over the past week about composition, lensing, dramatic impact and more.

I've got some notes i made on the stuff he talked about and explained to lesser mortals like me.....I'll be putting em up as soon as he's done with his sessions at the studio.....i'll be able to connect the gyaan (information) much better then.

For now here's a sketch i did of him

Post no.1

This is the second first post i'm doing since 2006....each time i look at a great blog on the net...i'm like "That's so kew!!....y the F*** can't i be kewl.....i wanna have a blog too!".....next thing i know i'm at the sign up page on Blogger....and that's when the fact hit's me....I'm a lazy F***!!...that's what i am......that's my curse....

Well i just hope this time around i stick with it and get to atleast 10 posts.......atleast i'm gonna try.....
